Religious Texts

Foundations of Religion 1.jpg

This booklet was part of the Ten Cent Pocket Series published by the Haldeman-Julius Company from 1922 to 1923. Bosley seemed to be a man who was attempting to figure out his reigious beliefs, and these readings may have helped him come to some conclusions.

Unbeknownst to my grandparents, J. Otis Bosley was a Freemason. This required him to believe in a Supreme Being, and the religious texts in the Bosley Trunk suggest that he might have been working through his beliefs to come to a specific conclusion.

This booklet was also part of the Ten Cent Pocket Series published by the Haldeman-Julius Company from 1922 to 1923. Many of Bacon's essays included in this volume are religious in nature.

Bosley also stored other religious booklets in the trunk, which will be added to this exhibit in the future.
