Oil Can 1.jpg

This mini oil can was found in the Bosley Trunk. At first glance, I was unsure of what the object was. After a bit of research I was able to figure it out. The only clues I had were the material (metal) and the information imprinted on the bottom of the oil can.

This item suggests that Bosley was doing some sort of automotive or machinery work when needed, although there could be other uses for a bit of oil. However, when you consider that this oil can was found in the trunk near the following object, the context supports the notion that Bosley may have been working on an automobile.

Lambs Never-Shimmy Device 1.jpg

This car device, Lamb's Never-Shimmy Device for Ford Cars, paired with the mini oil can suggests that Bosley might have been doing his own automotive work. There were two of these devices in the trunk.

First, this tells us that Bosley may have been a successful business man. If he was able to afford a vehicle, he made a decent living. But, if he was doing work on his vehicle, was that because he couldn't afford the extra money required to pay a mechanic? Or was this just a hobby for Bosley? This topic will require more research in the future. It might be possible to examine some of his documents and receipts from purchases, if the paper has survived intact.
